Day 1 — Arrive Cairo and recover
Day 1 — Arrive Cairo and recover.
This is an operating stage that connects the archaeological and cultural parts of the journey rather than a site visit.
Timing is confirmed against traffic, road, airport, vessel and access conditions before the journey operates.
Access: This is already fast-paced. Do not add Alexandria, Dendera or Abu Simbel without increasing the total duration.

Day 2 — Hosted local lunch
Day 2 — Essential Cairo: Giza Plateau, lunch and Grand Egyptian Museum.
Giza is the principal royal cemetery of Dynasty 4, where pyramid complexes, causeways, temples and elite cemeteries form a planned funerary landscape.
The plateau is a working archaeological site with separate ticket categories and changing access to pyramid interiors.
Access: This is already fast-paced. Do not add Alexandria, Dendera or Abu Simbel without increasing the total duration.
Local context: This stage includes direct local context.

Day 3 — Saqqara
Day 3 — Historic Cairo or Saqqara & Dahshur, selected by guest interest; evening flight to Luxor when practical.
Saqqara preserves more than three millennia of burial history and includes Djoser’s Step Pyramid, a decisive development in royal stone architecture.
Open tombs and internal access change, so the confirmed programme should follow current site conditions.
Access: This is already fast-paced. Do not add Alexandria, Dendera or Abu Simbel without increasing the total duration.

Day 4 — Karnak
Day 4 — Ancient Thebes: Karnak and Luxor Temple, with a calm evening.
Karnak developed over many reigns around the cult of Amun-Re and is best understood as a temple complex that grew through successive royal additions.
Its scale requires selective interpretation; heat and walking distance matter more than trying to see every corner.
Access: This is already fast-paced. Do not add Alexandria, Dendera or Abu Simbel without increasing the total duration.

Day 5 — West Bank
Day 5 — West Bank Discovery, transfer to Esna and embark the 4-night dahabeya.
The Theban west bank contains royal tombs, mortuary temples, elite cemeteries and the settlement of the royal tomb workers, each serving a different function.
A good route separates these site types and limits unnecessary driving across the west-bank landscape.
Access: This is already fast-paced. Do not add Alexandria, Dendera or Abu Simbel without increasing the total duration.

Days 6–8 — El Kab
Days 6–8 — El Kab & Edfu; sailing and Gebel Silsila; Kom Ombo.
El Kab preserves tombs of provincial officials and a landscape tied to the ancient city of Nekheb, offering a quieter view of Upper Egyptian history.
Access can involve uneven ground and exposed walking; it fits naturally on the Nile route near Edfu.
Access: This is already fast-paced. Do not add Alexandria, Dendera or Abu Simbel without increasing the total duration.

Day 9 — Arrive Aswan, disembark
Day 9 — Arrive Aswan, disembark and Essential Aswan or Philae-focused touring; overnight Aswan.
Philae is principally a sanctuary of Isis, developed especially in the Ptolemaic and Roman periods and relocated to Agilkia during the international Nubian rescue campaign.
The visit requires a motorboat; crowding and boat logistics are part of the operating plan.
Access: This is already fast-paced. Do not add Alexandria, Dendera or Abu Simbel without increasing the total duration.
